Hello, I’m Adriel Van Etten
a UX designer blending science with art to solve complex, user-focused challenges creatively
My Projects
RedSeal
RedSeal is a cybersecurity company that helps customers visualize their networks and improve their security posture. As a Junior UX Designer, I conducted and documented user personas for RedSeal products. Furthermore, I worked with product management to research and design wireframes and high-fidelity mock-ups for a new target segment for RedSeal's new SaaS offering.
RealFan
RealFan is a fictional news application tailored to pop-culture fans created by me. Once the user becomes part of a fandom via the app, they are provided with related news. Users can customize what aspects of the fandom they wish to see news about, whether it be movies, television, comic books, and more. Furthermore, the app alerts users when and where desired merchandise is in stock.
GramCity
GramCity is a fictional photo editing app that I was tasked with conducting a design sprint for. The Springboard exercise asked that I created a feature that would run in conjunction with this preexisting app. The goal was for me to focus on how I could help GramCity users discover new locations for photos and use a design sprint to create a solution.
Adaptive Biotechnologies
Adaptive Biotechnologies aims to improve people’s lives by learning from the wisdom of their adaptive immune systems. Adaptive’s proprietary immune profiling platform reveals and translates insights from our adaptive immune systems with unprecedented scale and precision. The UX team was tasked with reimagining and enhancing the Order Management System (OMS) and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) ecosystem.
Aspired
Aspired is a start-up company that looks to boost donations for nonprofits by allowing individuals to donate through restaurants. When a customer orders from a restaurant through Aspired, a percentage of the bill goes to an associated nonprofit at no extra cost to the customer.
EarShot
EarShot is a fictional music streaming app developed for my second capstone. I designed for a business transitioning from a free to a freemium model. The project aimed to achieve two primary goals: enabling new users to subscribe to the premium product during registration and providing opportunities for returning free users to upgrade to paid subscriptions both during sign-in and within the product after logging in.
