Their platform offers visibility into network vulnerabilities, configuration issues, and threats, enabling businesses to better protect their IT infrastructure and respond to potential security risks.
Description
RedSeal is a leading cybersecurity firm specializing in network visualization and security enhancement. In my role as a Junior UX Designer, I have developed and documented user personas for RedSeal's products and created low-fidelity design kits to support ideation. Additionally, I collaborated with product management to research and design wireframes and high-fidelity mock-ups for a new target segment within RedSeal's latest SaaS offering.

User Research/Personas
When I first started at RedSeal, I was tasked with updating their personas to better reflect the userbase of its most current offering: RedSeal Stratus. Many of these personas also had sub-personas. Stratus is a single software that is used by a plethora of very different, specialized roles. It was extremely important to understand how these roles were both different and similar to create experiences best suited to each of their jobs within the same application.
Low-Fidelity Design Kit
RedSeal had been making edits to previously crafted high-fidelity prototypes to create new designs. However, they were not using low-fidelity wires prior to creating new designs. To help make the creation of low-fi wireframes quicker and easier, I created a wireframe design kit with components that designers could drag and drop to visualize design ideas quickly.
Custom Checks
Users are able to create their own customized checks that will alert them should the rules of that check be violated.
Custom Checks: Query
Users are able to utilize a query to set triggers for a violation. The table reflects which resources will be affected by the entered query.
Custom Checks: Additional Details
Any optional information that the user deems necessary can be added during this final step.
Final Design
Using the personas and wireframe design kit, I am tasked with tackling a variety of design issues given to me by RedSeal’s product managers and senior designers. Sometimes these issues can be as simple as fixing Figma components or as complex as creating brand new designs to address a user story. All designs meet the PM’s requirements and are validated by user testing.
Below is an example of a Jira task given to me by one of RedSeal’s product managers. I was tasked with creating a userflow in which the user can set up a check. Utilizing designs that were already in Stratus’ design kit, I created a 4 step process in which the user selects a vendor, enters a query, required details, and additional (optional) details.
Custom Checks: Vendor Selection
To help simplify the creation of checks, a stepped creation system was implemented. Users are first presented with possible vendors they can have the check associated with.
Overview
Users are given a high-level snapshot of their network compliance. From here, they can see how many violations they have for each vendor as well as the severity of each violation.
Custom Checks: Details
Users enter required information such as a name for the check, a check description, and severity level.
